Suggesting a new food or a change to a food.

To suggest a new food from scratch you can click 'Suggest new food' on the main menu.ย

Alternatively if you want to suggest a new food based on another food or recipe you can do this by clicking on the three dots when inspecting a food item in the diary view. You can also click 'Suggest a change' to suggest a new portion or update some information.

Suggest a change.

Suggest a new name, portion or any other change in the suggestion field. You can also add images. Click save.

Suggest as a new food.

Fill in as many details that you know, add images and click save.

Approval process by foodzone dietitians.

All suggestions are processed by a dietitian in the background and are not automatically added. We usually get new foods processed in a day or two. The process is seen in the image below where we match the new food suggestion to existing foods from the main government databases. This process is important to make sure foods are accurately entered and also ensure every food has a full nutrient profile by matching missing nutrients from food labels with the closest food match.
